Hello Joy, Sharon, and the rest of the Reunion Team

I am sorry to say that I will miss the 40th year reunion. I have retired to a small island in the Country of Indonesia. Ever I watched the film South Pacific (at the Catlow of course), Bali Ha'i has called me. The island of Bali is now a little too developed, and I settled down in the much more primitive island of Lombok. I thoroughly enjoy living among a totally different culture in an astoundingly different tropical environment, complete with water falls and 80 degree, crystal blue ocean.

I come back to America only infrequently, and then spend my time in California, where I lived most of my adult life. I will miss seeing former (but certainly not old) classmates again. I do have a web personal site that is a little out of date, www.hobocamp.com . You have my e-mail address. International mail and phone service is not available. I will send you a donation to help cover your expenses - I enjoy your reunion web page. It would be fun to keep up and running. I wish you all the best. By the way Sharon, do you still wear braided pig-tails? Weren't you Becky in Mr. Peterson's version of Tom Sawyer in the 5th grade? I guess I was one of the "Barefoot boys with cheeks of tan". Come to think about it, I still am - with the minor exception of not being young enough to call myself a boy.
Give my thoughts to all -

Greg Luke,
(formerly of 200 Elm St. on the corner of Franklin)

Hi Joy, Good to hear from you.  I heard about a re-union from my sister --- and searched Google for information.  That took me to a Daily Herald web site, which listed a bunch of reunions and your website address was clearly listed among many others.  Very helpful site, do you plan on keeping it -  or is it for reunions only.  It would be nice if we had a computer geek who wanted to keep a permanent site for messages. I would love to come back, but I just cannot come to the US for a one-time occasion.  I'm sure you understand.  Just from my family alone I must come back for a wedding - or (gulp) funeral.  After my mother died a few years ago, I decided that it was time to get out of the fast lane, a place where I had lived most of my life.  It was then I retired and 5 years ago moved to a small but beautiful tropical island, east of Bali.  Even though it is remote, a few adventurous tourist from all over the world vacation here.  Not too many places in the world where you can meet such a diverse group of people.  Anyway, I married a local girl.  At this point, she is my only direct family here.  I have a 25-year old daughter from a previous marriage who lives in San Diego.  E-mail is really the only reliable way of getting in touch with me. ( hobo@hobocamp.com ) Mail service is slow and unreliable.  Once the central post office accumulates enough mail for this area, the postman delivers the all mail to a local hotel.  The village kids pick it up and bring it to my house - with luck!  I give them an extra tip if they bring it unopened.  The phone lines are not international.  If you can give me a brief idea of the information you are looking for, I will e-mail it back to you.  I would love to hear from old friends.  People tend to think of someone who has moved far away as "dropping out",  so to speak.  In fact, quite the opposite is true.  Through my travels, the television, the tourists, and the internet, I feel like I am exposed to ideas and information that the most people in the US don't have the opportunity (or the time) to experience. I am sure I speak for most people when I say "thanks" to you and the committee for taking the time to stay in touch - Greg
